"Flow"  A  Painting   of   Dub   FX

When I first spoke with Ben Stanford (Dub FX) about a painting I had in mind, his excitement fueled the fire. Six months later I presented him with "Flow" before his concert; a moment I will neverr forget.

I wanted to capture the movement of the music through the crowd. As it flowed and transformed us.

In September 2010, I came across Dubfx. His music inspired me so much, that I decided to give him something back. A painting. I started it in November (during the Egyptian uprising) and finished it in March (2 weeks after the Japan earthquake). The world was going through many changes at the time, which definitely influenced the energy in the painting. During that time, I would send updates of the painting to Ben through fb. He was incredibly supportive and encouraged me every step of the way. I had the painting packaged and on April 12th, I set it free. It was delayed for over a month due to a Canadian postal strike. And in June Ben notified me that he was going on tour and wouldn't be there to receive it. After 3 months of waiting, it arrived back in Thompson in late July. I was so relieved. On Aug 15th we drove all night to Winnipeg to meet Dubfx and Flower Fairy. We met him before the show, which is where the video begins.
The entire experience was beyond anything I could imagine. I honestly never thought I would ever meet them, but dreams really can come true.
Sadly we left our phone in a cab after the show. So we thought this video was lost. But... we got it back.
Enjoy
